While I didn&#8217;t finish all my homework (ten hours is LONG enough, in my book), I still went for a run!

The Rec Center at Georgia State closed at 7 so I couldn&#8217;t run on the track, so I decided to just do a little loop where all the college&#8217;s buildings are instead! The loop was a little over a mile, and my knee didn&#8217;t bother me that much! IT FELT AMAZING TO RUN AGAIN&#8230;even if I didn&#8217;t have minimalist shoes on (I still need to replace them).

I&#8217;m going to ice my knee and take it slow with short distances and no sprinting. 

Feels good to be back!

My bed is overflowing with homework and I plan to finish it all before I run. I have promised myself that I WILL run today and I plan to keep that. I have one assignment down, three more to go!

Chattanooga was so much fun! Girl Talk’s national party is Thirty-One Gives, (the philanthropic branch of the company Thirty-One Gifts), and   the Executive Director came along! Pretty awesome to meet her! Not to mention, the meetings went well. Yaaaaaaay &lt;3

Anyways, I’m now eating and will soon be tucked up into bed. Praying for a good night’s rest for tomorrow’s run!

I don’t know if I ever mentioned that I’m the Social Media Coordinator for the nonprofit Girl Talk. Anyways, I was told today that’d be going on a day-business trip to Chattanooga this Friday! I’m really excited, but my co-worker told me, “it’s going to be a looooong day.”

I guess I’m just nervous that I’ll be too tired on Saturday to run. I haven’t ran in three months, so I feel like it’ll take me a lot of motivation. I know I will probably use the excuse of, “I’m just so tired.”

I’m posting this with the hope that on Saturday morning, when I roll over in my bed to turn off my alarm so that I can sleep in, I will remember this post. I’ll remember this post and I will RISE TO SUCCEED IN COMPLETING MY RUN! AND IT’LL BE…VICTORIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve marked it in my calendar as “Run.” A lot of people are saying I’m ready to start running again, and I sort of believe them. I think I’m just too scared to run because I don’t want to further damage my knee.  The fear has blinded me from seeing that my knee doesn’t really hurt anymore.  It’s also the reason why I’m waiting until Saturday and not today or whatever. I want more time to strengthen it.  

I really hope it goes well. I have missed running so so much!

I was going to post pictures of my VMOs, but you can’t tell anything in the pictures, so instead I’m showing you what I’m doing to strengthen them!

Here is one and  here’s this one! I also use 1.5 lb ankle weights while doing this. Goodness, I can’t wait to run again! 

Now to study for my last final of this semester.

I went to the doctor on Friday, and there is nothing out of the ordinary! Praise God! My condition is very normal for female runners, but that chance was increased due to my past in dance.

Basically, my inner leg muscles are weak while the outer ones are super strong. Therefore, my patella favors that side while the inner ligaments are straining to keep it in place. Am I making since?

Anyways, the doctor told me to do VMO exercises which will focus on those muscles.

The downside? I had to get a cortisone shot and it really, really, really hurt. But here’s to hopefully running soon! <3

My knee pain goes in and out.  Thankfully, I will be going to the doctor to get it checked out. Brandon will be going with me for moral support and he has a small background in physical therapy so he can better explain my pain. Not to mention, he knows the doctor.

I really hope my knee gets better. Been missing running, especially since the weather has been beautiful and I’m in need of a stress reliever!
